28th Olympiad Games Begin Today

The 28th Olympics Games started just a couple of hours before at around 1PM EST or 8PM Greek time. The glamorous introduction started with a bang as hundreds of drummers pounding to the rhythm of heartbeat and the crowds counted down to the beginning of the Olympics. Then the water that symbolizes Greek's connection to the sea lit up with the five rings of the Olympics Symbol. Led by the Greek flag, the over 10,000 athletes from 202 countries marched into the centre field accompanied by music from a famous Greek DJ. And ended with a spectacular display of fireworks. A truely wonderful show at Athens, Greece today, where the olympics first started almost three thousand years ago.
Good luck to all the athletes in their competitions in the next 16 days.
