Prince Charles visits Eurofighter Assembly
It's not every day you get the heir to the
throne sitting in one of the world's most sophisticated flying machines.
But then, it's not every day that Fylde-based engineers get to rub shoulders with royalty.
Prince Charles gave the thumbs-up to the Fylde-built Eurofighter Typhoon after flying into the BAE Systems Warton site yesterday for a whistle-stop
tour of the final assembly point.
The Prince – a former Hawk pilot himself – spent more than an hour with the 190 workers at the high security hangar, enjoying a cuppa and talking
through the rigorous tests the £45m aircraft has to go through until it leaves for active service.
