Officials said the Predator went down about 10 p.m. EST on March 26 in the vicinity of Balad.

The aircraft was assigned to the 15th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. A board of officers will investigate the accident.

On March 23, Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force Base, Va., released its report on the Predator crash in Nevada on Sept. 22. ACC concluded that crew error was the primary cause of the mishap.

Officials said the pilot failed to correct a high flare maneuver in time to prevent a hard landing, causing more than $2.8 million in structural damage to the aircraft, which was assigned to the 11th Reconnaissance Squadron at Nellis. There were no injuries, fatalities or damage to other property, officials said.
