"OSLO, Norway (AP) _ Police in Norway say an Algerian asylum seeker used an ax to attack two pilots and a passenger as their plane was attempting to land.

Witnesses say the plane began to roll dangerously until passengers subdued the screaming attacker. The injured pilots then landed the commuter plane safely -- and were taken for treatment of head injuries.

Hospital officials say the pilots and a passenger have relatively minor injuries, but are being kept in intensive care as a precaution. In all, seven passengers were on board

A police official told The Associated Press the attacker was a man in his 30s, who has since been arrested.

The official said the attacker had likely smuggled the ax on board. There are no metal detectors at the northern Norwegian airport where the passengers boarded."
