AMMAN, Jordan (AP-CP) ? A Canadian aerobatic pilot was killed Monday when his glider plane crashed during an air show in a southern Jordanian desert,
a Jordanian aviation official said today.
The Canadian Embassy in Amman identified the pilot as Adam Katagiri. His hometown was not immediately known.
The 27-year-old pilot lost control of his small Ukranian-made plane, which crashed in Wadi Rum, a mountaineering attraction 300 kilometres south of
Amman, the Jordanian official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
He said he had no other details. The pilot worked for the Royal Air Sports Club in Jordan's Red Sea resort of Aqaba, 50 kilometres south of Wadi
Rum, said Ad-Dustour, Jordan's second largest newspaper.
Club officials were not immediately available for comment.
