You mean Ace Combat just got better? Yes, no doubt about it. Ace Combat 5 is by far the best simulator game i've played so far. Of course, being a flight simulator fan i naturally is fond of the newest Ace Combat game. But i can barely find a reason not to like this game even if you weren't a flight fanatic.

The graphics of this game is stunningly superb, with amazing detail and realism. The planes and the scenery looks so real. Personally, i love the graphics of the water, because it seems so real. Unfortunately, the water does not seem to be getting closer when you're executing a dive, so therefore, it is quite easy to crash. The characters look amazing almost lifelike. Each explosion and fire are finished with every aspect to real life. However the land and ground below your flights are not very realistic, and too undefined. From above it looks just like blurs or blobs of colour and hue although some texture was attempted. Despite that, the buildigns and structures on top of the ground are detailed and realistic.

Along with the graphics, the sound quality is amazing. The effects of the explosions, and everything you can hear is great and perfectly realistic. Accompanying the explosions, there is the vibration of the controller which adds to the effect and feeling. However, the music is not very attractive and doesn't always fit with the situation you're in. Maybe actual songs would be more effective.

The controls are quite simple and even the greenist pilot out there could pick it up in no time. Also the inverse of the stick makes the flying more natural. Each represents different things therefore making it simple, unlike games where the buttons account for different things in different situations. In Ace Combat, its straight-forward.

The gameplay is excellent, and includes many important features such as being able to control your wingmen and command your squadron. Also you wouldn't tire of the game. The storyline is just amazing and keeps you playing until you've finished. Even if you beat the game, there's so many things you can unlock and keep playing with. And don't forget there still is the arcade mode.

Overall, this is an amazing game which i would recommend to anybody, especially to those flight fans out there. This game would keep you playing for a while before you will tire of it.
